Our taste of Era Vulgaris continues with this balls-out rocker from Mr. Homme and Co. Stroke-in-Chief Julian Casablancas shares vocal duties and offers some Casio synth guitar riffage. And while this official clip is not a proper music video, we’re so taken with Queens’ raunchy new spokesbulb we don’t mind playing into their marketers’ hands.

Internets, meet Bulby.

I liked 3′s and 7′s way more. He starts sounding like Marilyn Mansons sometimes. it’ll grow on me, but i’ll still buy the album i think.
this one didn’t wow me though

The comment above: “when was the last time half notes grooved like that?” completely sums up why I love QOTSA. On the surface the stuff they do can come off as kinda “boneheadish”, dry and repetitive. But the more you dig in to the songs, the more the simplicity becomes a kind of sonic elegance. They have a groove that is so drone oriented, they just beat their way into your brain, kinda like a techno tune. Each instrument(or part)is like a cog in a machine that by itself may not be particularly impressive, but together with the other cogs becomes something much greater(I’m sure I’m gonna get ripped for this). A friend of mine gave me “Rated R” to listen to years ago, and at first I couldn’t really get into it. But one day it just clicked, and I’ve never listened to music(especially hard rock) the same way since. Long live the Queens. I can’t wait for the new album.
