TMZ reports that the Black Parade got a little browner and a little runnier recently, after My Chemical Romance and Muse contracted salmonella food poisoning at Glenn Gormley’s Green Leaf Cafe (not sure Glenn’s name is in the title of the restaurant, but that’s how it’s been reported, and we think Matt Bellamy would want it this way) near William & Mary in VA — giving the bands wild bouts of diarrhea and forcing them to cancel stops on their tour.

Impressively, Muse and MCR fans sussed out the bands’ condition for cancellation AND the establishment responsible, and proceeded in a civilized manner: They delivered a series of threats on Glenn Gormley’s diarrhea-dispensing life. That shit is bananas! Actually, that shit merits legal protection, Glenn. Get on that.

And the countdown is on to see how long it takes for some emo fan, somehow, to twist this into a report that Matt Bellamy will produce the next MCR record. Wouldn’t be the first time.

who knew, 2 life draining years at W&M and it turns out the greenleaf is good for something after all.

  5. I think this may be divine punishment for Matt Bellamy agreeing to play with MCR.

It’s called the Green Leafe, and is an otherwise decent resturaunt/bar. Arguably one of the best in town, though that’s not saying much. I ate there the night of the show with no ill effects. Rumor goes that Muse didn’t get sick either (though most of the shared crew did)

The show itself was actually pretty good. It was a bit disheartening to see Muse perform as an opening band, though they still managed to play ones of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

MCR’s performance afterward was surprisingly entertaining (much in the same way that Kiss or (the fictional) Spinal Tap derive their fame). Although their fanbase was tended to be a tad insane, I’m not really sure I’m going to join in on the MCR haters here.

nbomb — are you still at W&M?

  7. I have fond memories of the Leafe while attending W&M. Shame it’s getting a lot of bad press for this. I guess it’s best to stick with the great assortment of beers and ales they have on tap, huh?

  8. Muse opening for ChemicalRomance is like having a nice glass of wine before eating a steaming bowl of dogshit.

saw muse play a full show at the forum a month ago and it was really great.

so sad theyre stuck opening for that shitty band.

It’s fact Muse and MCR got shit-faced at the Green Leafe after the show, and our school paper (William and Mary’s Flat Hat) reported Muse and MCR didn’t even eat the catered food (opting instead for 200 bucks worth of pizza and Hooters wings). My guess is MCR can’t handle a hangover.

  13. I’ma reckon it was MCR fans making the death threats. And I talked to Tom Kirk after Muse’s set in Pensacola and he made it clear Muse weren’t jazzed in any way about the opening gig; these decisions are made by Warner, which both Muse and MCR are on. Muse’s show at the MSG will kick MCR’s pale asses, so it will all even out in the end.

MCR and Muse deserve every sickness they got from our precious Green Leafe! MCR’s show was so painful I just wanted to vomit or scream or slit my wrists. And they drained our school of so much money! What a sham! I didn’t even get to catch Muse because I had to sell merchandise to hundreds of eyeline-infested 14 year olds.

Ugghhh…I’m so bitter about this (if you couldn’t tell).

  15. all u stupid retards, lay off MCR. RAWR
