Your skill at critiquing album art is unparalleled, we know, so here’s a game designed to see how well you know the “classics.” Mental Floss has a quiz geared to the graphic designer set, taking 15 “of the biggest-selling albums in music history” (each with over 10 million in US sales alone) and maybe/maybe-not altering their images just so. Head over, click “kosher” or “bogus,” and report your score. The higher your percentage, the more we’ll pay attention to your comments when Strawberry Jam is on the PhotoShopping block. (via Prefix)

11/15 over here, suckas. (Granted Billy Joel and the Mac were ‘Gum gimmes, but still.)

13/15 right, but that’s because I’ve never seen the Garth Brooks or Steve Miller covers.

13/15 right, got Steve Miller and MC Hammer wrong. Bastards

  7. 12/15–The Steve Miller, Fleetwood Mac & Garth Brooks through me off. The Brooks one was tricky because it’s just an awkwardly composed photograph.

  8. 9/15…every album that I owned I got wrong. And yes, I did own a copy of “Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em.” Can I get a show of hands of people who are not ashamed to admit that?

    Favorite Track: “On Your Face”

How’s that for obscure? And no I don’t have the album in front of me and I did not visit Amazon for info.

  11. 13 out of 15 right, so there! Has *anyone* actually looked at a Meatloaf album in my lifetime?

15 out of 15, but it took some thought! I guess those years I spent working in record stores from 1985 to 1994 paid off. Or something like that.

    12/15.

That was damned hard. Missed Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac, and Meat Loaf.

All those albums suck, anyway. ;-)

  28. 12/15 (80%). Hadn’t ever seen half of them, so my guessing skills quite clearly rule.
