Kanye knows fiona personally through his friendship/partnership with Jon Brion, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how they got in touch.

zach talked about it briefy over at the fader (the whole post makes them seem completely oblivious to hip-hop in general, kinda funny) and it appears as though kanye actually saw zach perform and saw similar videos zach did to this online, and asked him to do this
wow kanye now has hit a tipping point of hipster zeitgeist with the daft punk remix, murakami art work and now will oldham, (for being so obscure he can be quite the whore).
I like how Zach has a dip in for a lot of the shots. That guy loves his Skoal.
