Roller girl sings! No, really. Heather’s got the new indie flick Broken out soon, and she’s drummin’ up the publicity with this dusky barroom ballad, complete with full performance video/movie montage clip. Pretty bad, but still not as bad as you’d think. We’d say ‘stick to acting,’ but is that even true? (Via Whitney)

Holy Crap, is that for real, or is it some kind of viral for a bad movie? Please don’t tell me there’s gonna be a full album of this… And what was the budget for that video, $5?

She should hook up and collaborate with Juliette Lewis.

it’s evident from one of the opening shots of the band–where she starts to crack up before she even starts to lip-sync–that even miss graham knows she has made yet another bad career decision.

the cliched lameness of the shooting-up-and-sliding-down-the-wall-into-a-slumped-heap and the i’m-so-fed-up-with-music-i-might-just-abandon-my-guitar-right-here-by-the-side-of-the-ROAD!!! were even more offensive than the mediocre lyrics, bad phrasing, and off-key vocals.

Director Alan White (thanks, imdb!), you should be just a little ashamed of yourself, don’t you think?

  6. I thought it was going to be a QOTSA cover….

See the one guitar player? Another actor/musician named Keram Milicki Sanchez. They were in “Cake” together. Back in the day he qwas ona Canadian show called Catwalk with Neve Campbell about a struggling band. Art/Life – where the lines?

Heather Graham, I had the opportunity to lust after Jenny Lewis, to commit her voice to memory, to have less than pure thoughts about her solo album’s cover…

You, miss, are no Jenny Lewis.

I decided to listen to this without watching the video. The song isn’t too bad, on its own. Not great, and certainly not Scarlett Johansson (when is her Tom Waits cover album coming out?), but it’s a good first try. Her visual “performance” in the video is terrible, though. Don’t try to act when you sing, Heather.

After taking a few peeks at the video, damn that’s awful. I don’t understand the Heather hate, though. I enjoy her. Not just sexually.

  11. wow, that was as bad as her acting.

as senator craig would say, she has a “wide stance.”

do we ever actually see her playing the guitar? a shot from behind or her holding one doesn’t count.

Keram is awesome! He should be singing the song though. his new stuff is pretty rad!

Heather has many talents… many actors want to express themselves through singing… it’s a natural extension of their gifts… and HEY… she actually has pretty good pitch… give her a chance to blossom and experiment! It’s really easy to be discouraging and negative – try doing this yourself and see that she just needs some time and experience as a singer. You GO Heather! Damn the torpedos and have fun with it. B.T.W. you were quite good as Judy Robinson.

  15. I don’t understand why everyone is so down on Heather. I haven’t seen much of her other work but it seems to meet standards for the biz…

This movie, however, is something special. I think this movie hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves. The music video is awesome… those little “quirks” where she is supposedly “acting” are where the movie kicks in if u notice. The movie is brilliant if u get it… and the song is just amazing as well.
