i suspect that since it was a live radio broadcast, sum censorship of the lyrics was taken on by the band…to me, instead of saying “go apeshit”, he says “go apeish”
and on another personal note, 30′s cover ROCKS, and i can accept that it wont b everyones cup of tea.
This is the worst Live Lounge I have ever heard. It was REALLY terrible…but the sad thing is that it seemed to go down really well. Maybe I’m too old for Radio 1 now but I just don’t get why people like these losers. They are dull, uninspired and should be filed in the bin alongside Dogstarr.
OK, here’s my opinion, for what it’s worth…
This song, performed by Jared & Co, is so much more, dare I say it – emotional, compelling, and (forgive me for being a girl…) sexy!
Jareds voice fits it so well, and it’s a great showcase for his vocals.
I never gave Kanye’s version any time, but this 30STM version is now a firm favourite.
I think it comes across as a brilliant cover. What’s the point in making a cover if you make it sound exactly like the original? That said, I do prefer the 30 Seconds To Mars cover over the original. Kanye West was never really my cup of tea, to be honest I don’t care for the original at all, but, BUT, I would never sink to the level of trashing Kanye anyway. The one who wrote this must really have a problem with Jared Leto, why? Jealosy? Or simply being reluctant to accept that things can be done in more than one way?
Stronger in the 30STM version has been playing non-stop on my ipod, my car stereo and my laptop since I first heard it. Jareds Letos voice and the whole arrangement of the cover makes it an amazing experience for me, at least.

Come oooooooon! Why be nasty about all of this? The 30STM cover is an awesome version because it is a DIFFERENT version. I agree with another poster who commented on the fact that cover songs should sound different from the original versions. It makes them more original to the cover artist and still pays homage to the original artist at the same time.
30STM did a cover of Bjork’s “The Hunter” and although it’s more of a similar version than the difference between the “Stronger” cover, it is still original to 30STM and is quite brilliant.
How many cover songs have been done by artists in the past where people have thought that the cover song was the band’s OWN original song???? It’s a promotional tool for the original artists, if you ask me. Most original versions of cover songs have fallen by the wayside, only to be brought back to life by a whole new era and a whole new spectrum of potential fans.

I agree with everyone who says that the 30 Seconds to Mars version is better. I am a HUGE fan of Jared Leto and 30 Seconds to Mars… I am the biggest fan you will probably ever meet. I can’t get enough of them. And when I heard this, I didn’t realize it was Kanye West until I read about it somewhere on Myspace, and I was shocked because the Kanye West version stinks. I don’t like hiphop and rap, etc. so I was incredibly happy that 30stm did a cover of this because it makes ‘Stronger’ into an amazing song. And you also have to understand that 30 Seconds to Mars sings a completely different genre of music than Kanye, so the song is going to be different. The cover that 30 Seconds To Mars did of Sronger i think is so much better then the original its more emotional and sexy then Kanye’s. i heard Kanye’s version and within 45 seconds i put Jared’s version on. I enjoy the cover but seriously, wtf is with all the 30stm fans suddenly showing up? There’s like four negative comments and about thirty saying “eff you 30stm are amazing and you should stfu”.
Damn you people get defensive about everything.
Anyway, I’m only a casual listener of this band, but I do enjoy the cover, as I said. It’s radically different.

there was never anything genius about “the kill” or this version of stronger, that said, leto can sing but so apparently can his editing team, (duh) pro tools ftw. Id also like to mention that just like his pretentious video for the kill he left the praise in from jo whiley after the track. give me a break.

30 Seconds to Mars and Kanye are both experts at the same thing: making completely meaningless lyrics sounds epic and awesome. That they use the exact same lyrics only proves the point.
