Those hearty urban folkies Akron/Family gave us a taste of their recently released Love Is Simple earlier this summer, with the playful, rattling, and rootsy “Phenomena.” Now the fam’s getting ready to spread their Love on the road and had a tune-up in Chicago, where they played an album-spanning set at the AV-Aerie Art Space. We weren’t there, but the folks at Basement Tapes were and lovingly captured the show in high-quality audio. Here’s Simple jam “Love, Love, Love (Everyone),” a slowly swaying then crash-cymbal smasher, reminding you to do what the song title tells you. Like Yoko, A/F are all about the love these days.

You can hear and download live takes on “Phenomena,” Meek Warrior‘s “No Space In This Realm”, and Akron/Family‘s “Franny” at Basement Tapes.

Love Is Simple is out now on Young God.
