There isn’t much more we can say about for the Forms at this point, so we’ll recapitulate as succinctly as possible: You should be listening to this band. And, shit, if their Midway show was a sign of their road readiness (national tour starting this week), then you should be seeing this band — and hearing from them, too. The quartet’s been tuning up the past few months via shows opening for the National, secret gigs, etc., but of the four we’ve caught, the Midway set Saturday night just was on another level. Still no “Ignoreland” cover in that set, but the time-shifted/coil-riffed “All Apologies” is a crowd fave for neophytes and Forms sophisticates alike. Karaoke beckoned so we didn’t have long to stay for another of our favorite locals, Goes Cube, but the trio still managed to permanently damage our hearing more in those ten minutes than most other acts combined. Worth it? Of course. (Ears are still chiming, though.) Jump for MP3s and a few more pics.

  1. skipping out on Goes Cube’s set for some extra karaoke time is blasphemous
