The Robbers, who were last seen during The Great Holiday MP3 Rush of ’07, teamed up with L.A.-based filmmaker Jason Argyropoulos for their first video, and it’s got a production technique best described not by us:

Jason shot the band, then created background images, and projected the footage of the band, frame by frame, on each background, while shooting each combination as individual frames. The whole process, which did not involve any computers, took several months to complete.

That, sounds like a lot of work. Easy peasy digging into the tune’s Brit pop stylings, though.

Grand Animals is out via New Line. NYCers can check ‘em testing some new tunes at Mercury Lounge on 2/2.

    I can’t take credit for this, but a reviewer once said: “Does Spoon live on High Street?”

    They seem to have dropped that affectation on this song a little. Not too shabby.

      ROHS can eat Spoon with a fork and have the leftovers the next day. Grand Animals album and Crown Vic rocks it!
