We’ve given our favorable thoughts on youthful UK buzz crew These New Puritans in the past and are currently absorbing their forthcoming full length, Beat Pyramid, with its impossibly awesome reflective cover art. So far it’s a grower. The tune that made us fall in love with the kids immediately, though, was “Navigate, Navigate,” which as previously mentioned, TNP concocted for a fashion show of Hedi Slimane’s Fall 2007 collection at Dior Homme’s Paris show. You get a clipped, differently atmospheric version, “Navigate-Colours,” on the album; it’s nowhere as glorious as the fashionista epic. When first discussing the lengthier “Navigate, Navigate,” we reported that it appears on 12″ with a B-side remix by the Loving Hand, aka that non-LCD Soundsystem DFA dude, Tim Goldsworthy. At that time, we didn’t know how dance-worthy it was. OK, we expected the emphasized handclaps.

Fun to hear it dolled up, but we still prefer the original. More bands should write songs for fashion shows. Anyhow, some copies of the “Navigate, Navigate” 12″ will be given away via beatpyramid.com. Investigate, investigate.
