Sudekis, Amy Adams, Vampire Weekend … this promo is pretty much cute overload. Here’s your TiVO alert, indie rock.

  1. I think I saw the keyboardist the other day help a mother carry down her baby stroller down the subway stairs. Maybe it wasn’t really him, but now I think of them as nice guys.

Who gives a fuck about an overrated comedy.

    Good for them.

  5. and i now hate this band.

“and i now hate this band.”

Is this because they make listenable music, or because someone besides you and your basement dwellers know about them. I mean, what is it now that makes you hate them when you apparently didn’t before (as denoted by you use of the word “now”)– their music hasn’t changed.

  7. Wow! A promo!

i’m still incredibly pissed they aren’t playing langerado today because they’re doing this. what a bunch of assholes.

    Over-exposure’s a helluva drug…

But maybe the guy just doesn’t like the mediocre performances bands inevitably deliver on SNL. Or maybe he dislikes VW, but likes SNL, and wishes he wouldn’t have to waste his time with the musical guest; before, he didn’t care about VW, but now they’re invading his space. I’m just saying, it seems your two options: “You either hate listenable music” or “You hate it when the populous listens to your music” doesn’t seem to cover the bases. A person could dislike a band, now or whenever, for any number of reasons. I mean, if it’s OK to dislike a band at first and then come around later, how can it not be OK for a person to like a band for awhile, and then decide that it sucks? If some music can be good “just because it is” then it follows that some music can suck “just because it does.”

In any case, hopefully we all have something better to do Saturday at midnight…

is it just me or is it a bad idea to blow off fans to play on a stage that still smells like dad rock?

What a bunch of fucks……and I’m not talking about Vampire Weekend. Why in the hell are you all so insistent on making The Killers out of them? Why can’t you be happy that a good young band like this is getting time where it would be far less surprising to find a former American Idol….or John Mayer or someone truly shitty like anyone that’s a favorite of Gorilla vs. Bear?

I’m sure when you have a chance at national TV exposure you’ll pass it up for one of the 86 festivals you’re booked to play this year.

Seriously, you’re worried about Vampire Weekend selling out? Guys who rock out singing about going to Ivy League colleges and spending summers on Cape Cod? With violin and other classical instruments?

Bonus points if you know what an Oxford comma is.

i know what an oxford comma is. and i use it often, mostly to lie about how much coal i have. even though it’s dumb. who gives a fuck anyway?

now can i have my bonus pts plz/

I don’t actively dislike Vampire Weekend, or dislike any band simply because they’ve become popular.

That said, I don’t really *get* the fad behind Vampire Weekend. Sure, it’s inoffensive and easy to listen to…. But there are far better bands that fit that same description that haven’t achieved similar levels of fame (Belle & Sebastian come to mind instantly)

But seriously…. why all the hate?

I do understand what every one is saying or has said about vampire weekend but seriously guys name one actually popular band that has such a cool name like VW.
I mean people will get sick of them in like a month because of MTV or over publicity but they will still have fans like me who like music that you can sing and dance along to. People just don’t like out of the box thinkers that actually sing their music and not some crap that a hired song writer threw together because he’s to busy writing another song for Cris Brown or something. come on people THINK………

  16. I prefer The Feelies.
