There is no unicorn lady in the new Timothy Saccenti-directed clip for “Another Day,” but there are mimes, and that’s enough reason for Jamie to suit up and don dancing shoes. It’s hard not to smile at this neo-soul nugget, especially if your face was missing a mouth or ears until Jamie sauntered up. Dude knows how to treat a lady. According to the JL newsletter, the single will be released with “a bunch of new material and remixes … full info coming soon.”

Jim is out next week on Warp.

He’ll be the Feist breakout easy-listening success story of this year. I’m certain of this. From the early summer release date to the less electronic production to the early barrage of wacky videos. Everything about Lidell this year smacks of Feist last year.

  2. Anonymous could be on to something…in any case, the new album grooves. A lot more straightforward soul, great songs.

The similarities to Feist are not so surprising given that the same crew of Canadian expats (Mocky, Gonzales, etc) produced both albums. Hopefully Lidell’s album will explode like Feist’s, cause it’s pretty sweet.

    This video is seriously disturbing…

There is also another similarity to Feist last year: They are both great albums.

I made the first post and i have to agree with sean jean that both albums are just really major improvements on really really good but not fantastic buzz albums. Let it die and multiply are wonderful albums, but it seems that every single thing that was great about those was put entirely into reminder and jim. both were pleasant surprises as in, “i expected this to be good, but not THIS good.”
