It’s fun watching people react to CocoRosie. I’ve always liked them, but was especially a fan of The Adventures Of Ghosthorse & Stillborn, its gorgeous tales of intimate escape, private languages, and everyday rituals set to the duo’s homegrown trippiness. “God Has A Voice, She Speaks Through Me” goes heavy on the auto-tune, clouding the storyline a bit, but it’s still a victory lap for the the sisters. The diamond-stuffed video for the song created by Eliza Douglas and Bradley Benedetti in collaboration with CocoRosie and Emma Freeman — over the top in some of the best ways — makes perfect sense. Remember, this is “spiritual dance music” (with an oceanic/apocalyptic bent). Bianca’s ditched her mustache for a Birth Of Venus look, albeit wearing some sort of hijab. There’s a unicorn, too. And dolphins. Of course.
There’ll be a new album in 2009, which we’re told will follow in this vein. For now, “God Has A Voice, She Speaks Through Me” is out digitally via Touch & Go. There’ll be a 7″ picture disc out 7/8, also via T&G.

love it! so lush. perfect summer song.
god, you have to love cocorosie. this song is a little overproduced for my taste, i prefer the much more organic and simple sound of their previous works, but this is still a great track and perfect for summer. this video is so over the top, and in the best way possible.
I just realized that CocoRosie is infinitely more punk rock than almost everyone.
It’s kind of like the Sensual Seduction remix-reprise
so, am i the only one who thinks this song is terrible?
seems so.
i love this video!
is great quality
