Those who weren’t compelled to purchase Cure’s “Freakshow” when it hit iTunes the other day can now stream it for free here. Could be worse.

Test for Komen looms at next Race for the Cure
Rebecca Reza has participated in fundraising races held by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world's largest breast cancer charity, for the past five years. She planned to sign up for the next Race for the Cure in El Paso, Texas, with her cousin. But Reza ...
Shocker! Komen for the Cure knew defunding Planned Parenthood was a bad idea
Things are looking so bad for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, leadership there is probably looking back at last week as the good ol' salad days, when the biggest problem was national outrage at a new policy to defund Planned Parenthood. Before the ...

Yea, it streams on the main page of the Cure’s site. Not a great song, the first one, can’t remember the name, was much better. Still can’t wait for their show at MSG next week!

  2. Now this is embarrassing. I’ve been a Cure fan my whole life and i think Smith must retire gracefully while he can. Their last really great album was “disentagration” in 89, almost 20 years ago !!! Since then they have released albums that went from “ok” to utter crap and this fits into the latter category.
    Frankly , it hurts.

No, what REALLY hurts is such narrow-minded nonsense from fair weather fans who think The Cure should only crank out Disintegration II, III, IV just to keep you happy. Freakshow is a fun, energetic single in their “pop music” vein that actually grows on you with repeated listens. I’ve heard 7 of their songs from the new album so far and I’m very impressed, Underneath The Stars to The Only One being particular standouts right now. As for retiring, the only thing Robert Smith needs to do is just ditch the silly makeup and haircut. I just caught all three Texas shows and they were MINDBLOWING – a combined total of 9 hours, 107 songs, 65 different ones played in all!!!

the cure are consistently awesome live, and i couldn’t agree more. also, i think “wish” is far better than “disintegration,” but that’s just me.

  4. Freakshow on the main site is only a looping 20 second clip.

I’ll admit I was nervous when Smith gave O’Donnell and Bamonte the boot a few years ago, but I think that these new songs are highlighting the thing that got me addicted to the cure when I first heard them back in the early 90s– Porl Thompson’s amazing guitar playing.

I’m excited for album #13. Bring it on.
