The focus of Bon Iver’s stripped-down, relatively unadorned sound is Justin Vernon’s inspired vocals, so it’s no surprise he nails his Take Away. (The nod to his woodsy lifestyle is appreciated, though there are no wolves.) As the headline suggests, we also get “Lump Sum,” but with slightly different instrumentation and “For Emma, Forever Ago,” but with an old French guy.
