Folks seem to be souring on Weezer. How about Matt Sharp’s band? Those tessellating (right) Canadian youngsters Tokyo Police Club have tackled the Rentals’ “Friends Of P.” This isn’t the first time we’ve heard the Elephant Shell-ing RAC grads do the song, but it is the first time it helps raise money for Lupus research. The band’s partnered with the Lupus Foundation Of America, which is why you’ll want to go here to listen to the track. Visitors can make donations. Visitors who donate sooner than later can also get a free “Friends Of P” tote bag. You can use it to tote around your deluxe copy of Red.

  3. This cover is pretty terrible.

p.s. The Rentals’ body of work > Weezer’s
    They’re so criminally underrated
