“Cath…” has been a Narrow Stairs standout ever since the good ol’ days of that BBC6 in-studio session, when Ben gave it acoustic style. The full band studio version gets the Autumn de Wilde treatment here, which runs in two set pieces: one featuring DCFC sitting in a grassy dressing room and showcasing the lip syncing talents of everyone (even Nick and Jason), the other with Lukas Haas doing his best Dustin Hoffman circa The Graduate. (See also: Lukas plays music.) If you’re not sure, yes that’s Ben’s face superimposed upon a wedding because Death Cab is love.

Here’s a new DCFC press shot, which if you click will become so big:

i rather like it. autumn always does some very interesting videos. the shots during the freeze of the wedding were intriguing visually.

  2. you know why Cath is the the obvious best song on the new album? because it sounds most like Transatlanticism.

  3. I like this T.I. video better…

  4. chris walla looks evil.

  5. i like this video. it’s decent.
i also love the song. reminds me of phish.
    However, i’m undecided about Ben’s new haircut….

hair is ok but those side burns are horrible. Is he try his best to resemble Neil young?

When they were doing Morning Becomes Electric on KCRW, he was all “I look like Neil Young and play this song like Neil Young”. That whole sideburns and longish hair needs to go. Sorry, Ben. I still love u!

Love the concept, for some reason the execution feels a little forced though. 8/10.
