You never thought to ask for it, but you got it: The forthcoming Johnny Cash Remixed album will feature “a performance from Snoop Dogg” on “I Walk The Line.” Mark your calendar for 10/14 for the album (which features remixes of Cash tunes from the likes of Apparat and Mocean Worker), hear some bits at the project’s site, and preview the project’s documentary because everything gets a documentary here. Snoop, pictured there with Johnny’s son at the Cash Recording Cabin, continues the good work of being rap’s greatest cultural ambassador to country music and bad buddy cop comedies.

Snoop really will take any gig offered to him.

Johnny Cash remix album? That’s possible? I didn’t know he was the new Bloc Party…

BTW Apparat ought to know better than to jump on board this crap.

I think this is a great idea, not only will it expose a younger generation to Cash but it is also an homage to one of the most profound songwriters by some of today’s hottest remixers and artists.

All of you naysayers are just exposing your narrow-minded lack of cultural diversity….so zip it and get back to your Britney Spears collection.

From the documentary: “I just wanted to get into the story of the song, add some grooves, and stay out of the way, really.”

Stay out of the way by not remixing it? That would have worked.

wow i don’t want rap in my country. why can’t people leave the mans songs alone they are legends as is. and now you want to take them and put a spin on them so a younger generation will listen to them. if they can’t listen them as is then they are the one’s that have the narrow minds and are missing out.
