The division of labor on this one — a cover of Dylan’s American Songbook staple “I Shall Be Released — is precisely how you’d want it: Tweedy on lead, the hirsute harmony makers of Fleet Foxes filling out the backdrop. The performance was captured during one of Robin & Co.’s four shows with Wilco, at the INB Performing Arts Center (known in better days as the Opera House) in Spokane, WA. As it goes with Dylan tunes, the song’s been covered to death, but this inter-generational collab of indie Americana all-stars is absolutely sweet, Marie.

    Wow. 2 of my favorite bands of the moment, performing such a wonderful song. Great way to come back to reality after vacation.
