The return of Jesse Hughs and Josh Homme’s crotch rock project was announced via punny album title (Heart On) and bloody, penetrating album art, and if that wasn’t enough confirmation that their ambitions were still squarely in the camp of quick-and-dirty, try out the first single. We’re told it’s “a tale that confirms the gospel of Boots Electric and Babyduck… that selling your soul for Rock n Roll is totally worth it,” which, sure. Fine I guess. I don’t really get the sense that it goes much of anywhere at all, to be honest, but you will hear those EODM scuzz-bucket guitars doing some bluesy biker rock, just with a little less humor and energy than you’re used to. I know, I’m really selling it.
Eh. The single’s art is probably a little more stimulating.
