The latest clip in support of Everything Is Borrowed won’t make you cry like last time. Mike is in character as Dr. Skinner (not that one), a man who we’re told has been “attacked, venerated, questioned and praised.” We see him onstage selling self-help T.J. Mackey-style and signing copies of his book Go Low. This is the rapper’s grown up album, and in his maturation Mike’s learned to appreciate heaven for the weather and hell for the company. Fair enough, but I’m not buying his book.
Everything Is Borrowed is out now via 679/Vice.

I love the album, but this is probably my least favorite song on the album.
the cool thing about this is that you can substitute the name of the band with the word “lame” and the story still works.
Um…I don’t get it? On any level.
amazing lyrics, the new album is lyrically one of the best albums of all time. check out ‘alleged legends’ and ‘the way of the dodo’ for some pure, much needed common sense.
*Everybody do the dodo
Everybody do the dodo
its not earth that’s in trouble, its the people who live on it no, no
earth will be here long after we’ve all gone the way of the dodo
I can’t imagine the day when things have actually faded away,
but the day i may not be able to pay my way could be today,
Its not that i don’t care, just that am way too caught up breathing air*
yeah, shit man…DEEP.
