In a Blender piece this summer, Kings of Leon commented that they had never had a decent music video. “Sex On Fire” wasn’t the triumph they were hoping for, so ambitions have been scaled back a bit on clip number two. “Use Somebody” is one of the better songs on Only By The Night and its video takes us backstage with the Followills (drinking, shooting pool, primping, drinking) and up close with Caleb, who looks like he’s been up all night crying. There are brief makeout scenes too, and maybe the pro shot concert footage will convince you to leave the digicam at home if you see these guys live.

Only By The Night is out now on RCA.

Whitney Houston Remembered By Kings Of Leon, Foster The People
In the wake of Whitney Houston's tragic death, one of the true testaments to the power of her music was the breadth of people she touched with it. On the Grammys red carpet, that was unmistakably clear. Two of rock music's biggest acts and nominees Sunday ...

if this band weren’t constantly releasing dull-ass songs, they would not know what to do with their time…

  7. his face´s so pink

goddamn it, bands don’t put out these documentary/live music videos until they’ve sold out…..i guess it’s official

All you haters….. are just indie hipsters…… who can’t respect KOL’s transformation….. they are Big in England!!!…. I give up, Kings of Leon just transformed from boring to horrible.

Caleb just wants to remind us that he dates Lily Aldridge – in case we didnt read about it in all of his cover stories this summer. They are like the Nikki Sixx & Kat Von D of the SXSW crowd

I can’t…. I just can’t. This video is terrible. Where did these guys go? I used to love these guys, and I still love the old version. This is alien takeover shit. Blah. Blah!

Fantastic!, loved the vidio and loved th song, i doubt its going to top the charts like Sex on Fire did but we can hope XD

  13. you can try as hard as you want to look like Joe Cocker when you sing…it doesn’t change the fact that you have a douchy hair cut.

  14. the new album is nothing compared to their old stuff. i wanted to love it , even had myself persauded that loved it but in reality it’s jus a big sell out. bring back songs like holy roller novercaine, milk, and arizona. really hope they don’t go all commercial on us and hopefully the next album will be as raw and dirty as the first three. for the real old kings of leon fans who remembers rocking out to red morning light and calfornia waiting , it is so annoying all these teenagers bragging how sex on fire is the greatest song ever…ya right

  15. i have been a KOL fan since the beginning ( im a junior in college and first started listening to them in high school) and i love this song…. i dont think that they have sold out at all…. this was my favorite song off their new album along with i want you and this is just as good as their other ballads have been…. trani and this song are in the same league…. dont hate because they are evolving…. when Exile on Main St. came out everyone threw up their arms and said bring back the Sticky Fingers Rolling Stones and today its one of the best albums of all time…. accept the fact that bands are going to change and appreciate their music…. regardless of whether you agree with me or not i think we can all agree that KOL is the best band out there today by far… no one comes close.

  16. wow,i hate when old ‘fans’ accuse a band of ‘selling out’ just cos they eventually make it big.i’m not saying you have to love all their work, but if you love a band, surely you want them to do well, and be happy for them when they do?

I really like this band they have a really good sound , they remind me of a young REM , but these are much better looking

u fuckin people suck ass!! holy shit u suck its so fuckin obvious i dont kno how any fuckin losers like u

  19. tim well spoken!! how can you support a band & then turn your back on them over 1 album?? your real “FANS” aint you?? …….this is a quality track the best KOL have done n the album is also class!!…..its called PROGRESSION people!! all top bands evolve n change there styles some of the worlds biggest bands have changed there sound album after album n hopefully KOL will go on to the level of the beatles, the stones, the who, floyd etc etc etc because i for one think they have the potential to do that!! you can tell the comments on here are from college kids that still havent grown up n realised how to appreciate music!! they still feel that to be cool & sound good you cant have a number 1 single n you have to have an underground sound!! im all for new music n different sounds but c’mon guys grow up n stop sh!ttin on the band you “SO” call support!! if your favorite football team lost would you dog them as much?? keep up the good work KOL!! (not that youll read this!!)………i wonder how many of you d!ckweeds actually paid cash for this track or album also?? hmmmmm ….not many i think!!! quit complainin n go back to jackin off to the NME you geeks!!!

man. really. how can you listen to this crap? the whole KOL scene is boring and overrated. i hear sex on fire 5 times a day on the radio. i hear use sombody 3 times a day. it’s not good enough to be on the radio that often. somebody is giving the radio guys a bunch of coke to play it so much. i swear that must be what’s happening. i would rather hear some jack white, or some grateful dead. you know, real music.

sex on fire whet my appetite and allowed me to discover KoL, I don’t hate their current direction, I even like it a bit, but once I get past crawl and the few bright spots on the album, I see the scary reality that my little sister likes the new songs by the same guys who made Youth and Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak.

  22. Ive been there. good sound. put yourself in their mind as they play this song. after you have listened to it a number of times; then see the video. video didnt kill the jukebox!
