Who would have figured the guy who wrote “No Surprises,” “Electioneering,” and named an album Hail To The Thief to be sorta invested in the results of the United States’ Presidential election. Yesterday Thom posted this up on deadairspace:

in celebration of nov 5th
jonnys burthday
amid bonfire and fireworks in the UK
and the dawn of a new era in politics in the USA
i humbly donate a remix of harrowdown hill that was finished ages ago during the band webcasts,
a small reminder of the dark days of Bush’s….
x

To cite that old American creed: MP3 after the jump.

A new version of “Harrowdown Hill” created by Thom himself. Now that’s change you can believe in. (Yep that was THE WORST. But also just one more election season joke wasn’t going to hurt anyone! Just kidding it totally did. It hurt everyone. I’m sorry. No more campaign-era jokes, that day is done.) Yorke the vote.

    doesn’t he mean ‘birfday’?

  4. Looks like one of Thom’s top connections on Evri is Barack Obama. Maybe Barack will make Thom Chief of Rock

    Me likey!!! :D

  8. Damn I fuckin love this remix, its base riff is easy to flow with, and the soothing ostinatos are the bomb. I may be one of the biggist Thom Yorke fans ever, but that dont mean I dont take the time to criticise and judge his music. This song was completely satisfactory to me.
