Breaking up is the worst, and I imagine revisiting the pain by collaborating with an ex-flame on a song about breaking up is especially the worst-y. Ry’s nothing if not open with his emotions, though, and also he’s been linked to almost every famous girl under 30 (but only dated five people!), so something like this happening was probably just a statistical inevitability. The song’s called “Leave Your Boyfriends Behind” and it appears as an iTunes bonus to Leona’s new Thirteens LP. The once-engaged couple revisits maybe why it didn’t work out, but also find themselves reunited with a lot of alcohol and the bright idea to forget about their current significant others for the night. “We’re not ready and we’re not even close / We’re not like the rest no we ain’t like most.” You don’t say.

Leave your girlfriends behind everybody. (Wonder why this never worked out.) Leona Naess’s Thirteens is out via Verve Forecast. Buy it on iTunes for “Leave Your Boyfriends Behind” bonus treatment.
