  1. That’s a bummer. He doesn’t get enough credit compared to the Bonhams and Moons of the world but the dude could play

  2. RIP Mitch Mitchell. Let me stand next to your fire

so what room at the benson hotel, anyone know? another rock and roll shrine awaits

  4. I spell check you because I care — it’s Bloomberg not Bloomgberg. RIP Mitch.

  5. That is just depressing. His drumming took Jimi’s music to another level. He was such a bad ass. I’m sure Jimi and Mitch are waiting on Noel to kick the bucket so they can get the band back together again. It’s just a damn tragedy!

    • Noel Redding is about 5 years ahead of you on that one. The Experience has officially ascended to even greater heights. RIP Mitch.

I saw Jimi, Noel & Mitch perform in one of Jimi’s last concerts in Albuquerque, NM in August of 1970. Buddy Miles was ill for this gig so Mitch “filled in”….

  8. RIP…fucking incredible drummer.

calling the woodstock set legendary though is a bit of a stretch. it’s generally considered a poor performance by jimi’s standards and he immediately slimmed down to a 3 piece again after it. there is a reason that the only song that jimi played without the band is the most famous from the set (star spangled banner).
