The Woodies, the Paris, France, the Vampire Weekend are the everywhere. A few nights ago they treated the crowd at La Cigale in the 18th arrondissement to a cover of Plastic Bertrand’s classic “Ça Plane Pour Moi.” It suits them well, and it’s no surprise: add it to their growing stable of well chosen covers. Amusez-vous bien.

Thanks for the tip, Will. As Chromeo told us last night, keep your eyes peeled for VW’s “The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance” single with the (Feat. Chromeo) version on the b-side.

Solid cover, great song, covered by a good band, the original kills though

The bassist is so awkward, it almost makes me feel uncomfortable.

It’s a great cover but I have to mention the fact that the original was a BELGIAN hit; most bands think that it was French and that’s why they play it at French gigs.

  5. It’s true that the bass player looks awkward in this video… Well spotted

what, no “Jet Boy Jet Girl?”

  7. I still have a soft spot for the President’s of The USA cover of this song… but love this one too! How about releasing it as a b-side, VW?

Fart. Fart. More & more covers because they don’t have anymore new, good material. These guys blow ass. Fart. Fart.

  9. haha who says “Fart. Fart”????, i guess people named sage

  10. In reply to Sage’s comment…..wow buddy, if you knew anything about VW at all you would know that they are not releasing a lot of new material to avoid what happened when they released their first album.. Everybody already heard all the tracks on their album before it released.. That’s why now they want to try to keep it more secretive.

  11. vw has for a long time been one of my favorite bands. it always impresses me how great they are live. i saw them in concert in miami, and their songs live were BETTER than the songs on the cd. i admit i don’t even know the original of this one, but i’m a fan of pretty much anything this band does. hurah vw!
