You heard its funky first single and now you can peek the morbid album cover for Tonight: Franz Ferdinand. It’s meant to emulate Weegee crime scene photographs of NYC from the 1940s. Check it at NME.com.

    WITHOUT PREJUDICE

    Hi,

On behalf of Domino Records and Franz Ferdinand, we would kindly ask you not to post the cover of “Tonight: Franz Ferdinand” on your site (or any tracks from the artist?s new album — street date 26th January).

We do appreciate that you are fans of / are promoting Franz Ferdinand, but the label and artist would greatly appreciate your co-operation in removing your links to the pirate file in question.

Thank you for respecting the artist’s and label?s wishes… and, for info on “Tonight: Franz Ferdinand” and the band?s 2008/09 shows, check-out http://www.myspace.com/franzferdinand and http://www.franzferdinand.co.uk.. you can also view Franz Ferindand videos at http://www.youtube.com/dominorecords, for details of preview material and pre-release promotions, keep an eye on these official sources.

As you will appreciate, this e-mail is written on a without prejudice basis and, as such, all of our clients’ accumulated, worldwide rights and remedies remain strictly reserved : please excuse this required formality.

    With Thanks & Regards,

    WEB SHERIFF

Fuck off Web Sheriff, you’re a fucking asshole. Everyone hates you.

  3. The Web Sheriff response is obviously automated, since the album art was never posted on this site. When does he get charged and fined as a spammer?

  4. I actually really love that cover, it’s amazing.

I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want the cover art for their upcoming album circulated on the web. It’s free promotion and there’s no way that posting something like that, if it was even posted, would cut into artist/ label revenues. I think this Web Sheriff is a little trigger happy, maybe hoping to catch a little extra kick back from the label for being “extra vigilant”….

That said, I really like the cover. It’s been way too long since these guys have released an album.

  6. Its not just copyright stuff involved…THIS IS HATE.

    REAL HATE.

    FUCK HATERS with no reasons!!!
