The group’s first studio LP since 2005′s Stand Up comes out 4/14, and they’ll support with a spring tour that kicks off at Madison Square Garden that night. The still untitled album will be produced by Rob Cavallo, who helmed most of Green Day’s discography, and will be DMB’s first without saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who passed away in August. Tour dates can be viewed here.

and this is news why?
is this a joke/
Whenever we post about DMB, lots of fans come out of the woodwork. Which leads me to believe they care about this news. Speak up DMB fans or I will remove myself from the Nancies beat lest an angry reader sets the blog on fire.
i think stereogum is planting a seed so they can make fun of dave matthews band later on….but it’s not like the killers…people won’t argue about this one guys…
all the bros at my college love dmb. remember when there was a rape a couple summers ago at a dave concert? ridiculous fans.
I’m not afraid to admit that I’m excited by this. I’ve been a DMB fan since high school and have a soft spot in my heart for them still.
I’m sure all the indie snobs will come out and bash the band, but anyone that bashes them has most likely never seen them live. Whether you like their music or not, they are one of the talented group of musicians in the world.
“everyday” is one of my favourite albums of all time. and i thought “some devil” was incredible. i’m more than willing to admit that i’m a fan, and that i’m happy they’re working on new things.
hipsters can suck it. i’m tired of this whole “omg that’s SO last year. your opinion sucks. the band that makes you cool right now is fleet foxes and only fleet foxes, don’t you know?”
“Everyday”? I think that album is hated even by DMB fans.
It does seem to be, but I really don’t understand why. I’m with massromantic; it’s an excellent album. I think I Did It, When The World Ends, Angel, The Space Between and What You Are are all excellent songs, and the rest are very good.
The Avett Brothers are opening for pretty much all of these dates. Interesting.
There are definitely some DMB fans here, whether they want to admit it or not.
I wonder if they’ll kick off their tour by dumping feces on some oblivious poor souls again, so there’s something there for y’all to picture in your heads: DMB = shit on your face. Someone should throw hackey sacks at Dave’s face when he does his douchey performance leg dance too, much like shoes at Bush
I’m a huge fan of DMB so very excited about this! Really hope the album is better than their last, which I’m confident it will be. One of the best live bands in the world too – shame there aren’t a few more dates – won’t be able to make any of these.
I’ll be interested to hear how it sounds with out LeRoi. I haven’t heard anything about whether they were going to replace him or not. Whatever the case, I’m hopeful for something better than the last two albums.
