We are late to the game on this one, but Videogum brings our attention to a uniquely talented indie rocker out of Pensacola. Check out Mark Gormley’s “Without You” and two older videos here. I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy.

  5. There is nothing better than the nerdy genius prolifically cranking out songs in obscurity, led by the muse of some familiar heavy metal band but sending it through a fun house crazy prism. This was the appeal of Robert Pollard and Guided by Voices (trying and trying to make another “Don’t Fear the Reaper”) and it’s the appeal of Mark Gormley, whose goal in “Without You” is late-70s-era Iron Maiden. Rock on!

    amazing sounds, the sound of a new generation of music? hopefully. only Mark Gormley could produce music this good
