In an entry titled “Merriweather Post Pavilion Worship,” Fleet Foxes tell the world they “love MPP.” We also discover Merriweather makes them want to cry and that AC are “seriously special human beings.” More? Running into Noah Lennox backstage at the Pitchfork Festival is likened to meeting Elvis. (You call us hyperbolic.) Read about cursing yourself “for looking like a Black Crowes monster” along with notes on Billboard, Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, and others at MySpace. Life is rad and weird, y’all.

Grammys 2012: Fleet Foxes has foot in folk past, ear for today
Though the Fleet Foxes share traits with other folk-leaning artists, including Bon Iver, Band of Horses and the more woodsy sides of Animal Collective, its sound is the most classically Americana, the most purely folk. Still, Pecknold was happy ...
Grammys honor Whitney Houston; Adele takes home 6 awards

As good, and as different the AC album is, I think the FF album is better. It’s pretty amazing to think that Robin Pecknold is only 22 and is making the kind of music that he is. He can only grow as a songwriter and I look forward to seeing how he develops over the next couple years.

  2. Haha…bless their little hearts, both Fleet Foxes and Animal Collective.

    The most “Revolver” since “Revolver”.

this is nice and all, but not sure it qualifies as ‘news.’

…now, if we could just get both bands in the same plane, and have it mysteriously disappear, 2009 would be far more tolerable.

did someone compare this to Revolver? I mean, this is just like noise. listen to anything after the first minute of a song like Brother sport, and its all just repeating the first minute for the next 4 minutes but with bleeps and blerps.

And to the guy who said this isn’t news, they are right. but anything Animal Collective is beyond news to these people, its like Gospel. its too bad this didn’t come out in December, then we could just call it best of 2008 and move on to 2009. but now we have another 11 months of people gushing about how damn good this album is. hopefully Grizzly bears album will soften the blow. but really, Arcade Fire should knock all this away in terms of quality. same goes forThe Decemberists.
