This morning we posted the Flaming Lips remaking Madonna for Covered, A Revolution in Sound. Now the entire compilation’s streaming at MySpace: Mastodon’s “Just Got Paid” (with Billy Gibbons) is a standout, the Used’s “Burning Down The House” is something that’ll make you want to burn down your house.

you weren’t joking about that used cover. curious, i decided to take a listen and HOLY SHIT i wish i hadn’t!
Oh my god! Why would they do that to the Talking Heads? Why are they so ANGRY and overprocessed (and/or sounding like they’re taking a super dump while singing)? Straight from the horrifically sampled drums it made me physically ill. There will be a action movie based on a first-person shooter game that will use this in their trailer.
Also odd: Adam Sandler covering Neil Young. Like completely covering it with almost no deviation. While doing a Neil Young impression. Who needed that?
The Used are still a band? …How about that?
maybe the worst compilation of all time.
forgot the Used existed til i read this post jere
I like the Against Me! cover of Here Comes a Regular…but I also love Against Me! and the Replacements more than is probably sane.
The ZZ Top cover has absolutely zero on Rapeman’s version.
