Next month John MacLean’s following Less Than Human with The Future Will Come. The ex-Six Finger Satellite guitarist — how great were they? — continues his trek into DFA-approved electronics, this time with another semi-permanent member, LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang, in addition to the usual guest spots. Down the road (i.e. next week) there’ll be a single for the third track, “One Day” that will include remixes by Emperor Machine, Lazaro, Surkin, and Romboy. But this particular remix by Chicago DJ/electro-rocker James Curd won’t be on it.
The digital “One Day” single’s out next week. The Future Will Come is out 4/14 via DFA. You can hear “Happy House” at John’s MySpace.

James Curd, an electro-rocker? You obviously missed the G-Swing era, in which he sampled bad swing records to kickstart a trend that only Mark Farina seemed to follow.
My idea of a GOOD swing record is “Ice Cream for Crow”…god, if they ever redo “Wizard of Oz”…
ELECTRO ROCKER , i will slit my wrists now, the world is going to end if people like james curd are making electro now, how fucking SAD!
