The videos have been silly and still compelling because, well, it’s Neil Young. Now you can hear the concept album about an electric car that birthed them at MySpace.

really? aside from a few silly lyrics, it’s an amazing return to form… the crunchy guitars a-la Zuma / the second-half of Rust Never Sleeps… I think it’s great. And I’m quite surprised it’s as good as it is… every write-up I’ve read about it so far had pretty much caused me to dismiss it a silly concept album, but the tunes are actually quite stellar.

This is great. Raw, ragged, messy, and full of passion.

I do also appreciate the irony of having the album stream in mp3 form when there’s a song on the album railing against the shit quality of mp3s.

Neil’s great at whatever he comes up with. The man has a knack for telling it like it is and nothing holds him back. “Greendale” is an awesome album that tells a true to life story about life in our “Piece of Crap” world. “Fork in the Road” is more Neil letting us know we got shafted by “the creeps that watch ticker tape tv” and the pigs up on the hill in DC. I have an extensive collection of Neil’s music, even some old bootleg rust and trash. I love his music and for that I say thanks Neil Young !!
