We’ll settle for Battery Park, but this Independence Day weekend, there is nowhere we’d rather be than Denmark. Lily Allen, Nick Cave, Fever Ray, Fleet Foxes, Fucked Up, Gang Gang Dance, Lil Wayne, Micachu, Oasis, Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Pet Shop Boys, Röyksopp, Marnie Stern, Shugo Tokumaru, Lucinda Williams, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and the artists mentioned in this post headline are just a small fraction of the talent on board for this year’s Roskilde. Full details here.

  1. Great line-up!
    and NIck Cave??!! Can’t wait!

  2. yea, too bad tickets are well above $300, and $400 with a tent. christ

  3. I’ve had enough of Kanye, Coldplay and NIN. In fact this entire line-up is crap with exception to The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Dodos, Cut Off Your Hands, and Fucked Up.

So was my 7-11 the only one that had that Big Gulp/Merriweather wallpaper promotion a few months back? Anyways it’s a great day to see “Monterey Pop” from start to finish and consider how things were better without Orwell and American Idol…

  6. Very nice line-up and the price is a bit steep but it is a week so in the end that’s not too bad. 3 day festivals go for $200 in Europe as well.
