Brooklyn-via-Boulder trio Chairlift moved from the indie promo piles to the Commercial Appeal archives when Apple tapped “Bruises” to be the Nano fight song. Now they’re scooping Kanye on video technologies and sitting pretty with a new record contract from Columbia Records, who are reissuing the band’s breakthrough Does You Inspire You. “Dixie Gypsy” is one of two new songs on the re-up, Aaron Pfenning and Caroline Polachek sharing vocal duties through the tune’s spooked, shape-shifting/patchwork electro. The 20-song-ideas-in-four-minutes trick works well as a bonus track; as a bridge to their next album, it’s clear one thing they won’t be short on is ideas. (More to support the good idea theory: This particular track is produced by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor.)

The Does You Inspire You Columbia Records reissue is available at Insound. The other bonus is called “Flying Saucer Hat.”
