The Milk & Honey Band is the brainchid of Robert White. After the project’s first LPs Round The Sun and Boy From The Moon landed on Andy Partridge’s desk, the former XTC icon made an express request that the Milk & Honey Band’s next record be the province of Andy’s Ape House Records. Today’s the street date for the second record from this partnership, Dog Eared Moonlight. For the collection, Robert shot for a “mixture of styles” that “somehow fit together.” These three MP3s make good on that, and Milk & Honey’s early and consistent critical acclaim: there are creamy, heartbroken, Kings Of Convenience harmonies and guitars on “Mind”; “Disappear” grooves with an airy melancholy; and “Incredible Visions” rounds out the set with punchy and warm, fittingly XTC redolent pop. Take them all.

Here’s the official vid for “Disappear”:

Dog Eared Moonlight is out via Andy Partridge’s Ape House Records.
