While the Roots crew is giving late night television a musical facelift, their one-time DJ/beatboxer dude Scratch has assembled a heavyweight constellation of cameo talent for his second post-Phrenology solo LP. Tracks feature Kanye, Estelle, fellow Philly guy Musiq, Consequence, etc., but “Too Late” wins our vote for best cameo from a former member of Blur. Damon Albarn puts his years of droopy crooning over dreamy hip hop backdrops to good work for this Scratch track; think gorgeous, downcast Gorillaz with momentarily uplift via a quality Kweil verse and some of Scratch’s acid human turntabling on the out.

Buy it on iTunes. Scratch’s Loss 4 Wordz is out 5/26 via Gold Dust Media. The tracklist has mad cameoz:

02 “Let’s Go” (feat. Peedi Crakk)
