After seeing Patrick’s bare ass paired with the sexed-up synths in the “Vulture” video, and after seeing these pics from Heaven, you probably wouldn’t expect last night’s photo spread from photographer Natasha Ryan to look so … intimate? Wholesome, even. In fact the set was meant to be an acoustic affair, LPR set up for dinner seating, Patrick seated at the piano and with his ukulele, in a hoodie with his guitar, showing off relatively tame socks with ass kept firmly in pants. The looseness extended to the setlist, which was created on the spot, drawing from the forthcoming The Bachelor, The Magic Position, and the occasional request. Patrick’s new album is out in June. It’s too bad the US doesn’t get to see this style of show more often from the lovable giant. He was slightly nervous but incredibly affable, almost quaint, and the fact that he had a good bit of family in the audience made it even more personal and relaxed. I hope someone recorded that piano version of Vulture!
