A few weeks ago a Bruce Davidson photo slideshow set to Dylan’s Together Through Life single was passed off as a “video.” That wasn’t a video. This is a video. The Nash Edgerton directed clip depicts Amanda Aardsma and Joel Stoffer as your typical tough-loving couple, having a typical syringe-and-stabby spat. Watch it at ifc.com (HT P4K).

The debate over Bob Dylan’s 1965 Newport Folk Festival set — yes, that appearance, the one with an electric guitar that was considered a watershed in music history — will probably be rekindled this spring at the National Museum of American History.

The better video for this is the new True Blood promo running on HBO that uses this song.

  2. Wow, people still buy into this shitty boring music. Dylan sucks, his melodically capability is incredibly poor.

The director edited the famous car chase in French Connection to Santana’s “Black Magic Woman”…

  4. WOW, is this video fucking disturbingly offensive on all counts. Nobody’s going to comment that the woman was clearly tied up with ropes and locked IN (he opens the lock from the outside) and goes to check on her with a knife? Then she hits him w/ the car and goes back? And kisses him? And he was about to drug her after he DRAGGED HER BEATEN into the bedroom? And that this happens to women, for real, in real life, all the time? We don’t need a video of it, stuntman sir.

    Nice.

    Love!

Bob Dylan, protest singer. Good job. Great job, everyone.
