Glasser is L.A.’s Cameron Mesirow, with an assist from Foreign Born’s Matt Popieluch. But essentially it’s a one-woman bedroom project for now, driven home by this cloudy one-woman video. Except for when there’s ten of her. “Apply“‘s a highly percussive keyboard meditation, Cameron singing through delay and with a little Kate Bush in the mix. As her layered vocals pour in thing become a little more clear, and brighter, closeups of her eyes and her hands in mudra locks along the way. Pretty and simple song, fittingly simple and hazed video.
The “Apply” 12″ is out 5/26 on True Panther.

Okay, so anyone with GarageBand, from LA and a Bjork record gets Stereogum press now? For shame.
Don’t you read Gorilla vs Bear? They’ve been posting about this band for months. Why are you so uncool for?
That’s dumb. She doesn’t sound like Bjork. Just because she’s a girl experimenting with throwing her voice around. She sounds like a rad Peter Gabriel, especially toward the end. And the video is awesome.
rad? Are you from the 80′s, brought here by a magical time warp? We don’t say rad around here.
I don’t think the fact that she uses Garage Band to make music is a reason to discredit her. I think she’s quite original. I love her voice, and her unforced, joyful, free-form songwriting. She may still be a little rough around the edges, but that’s part of the charm. We’ll see where she is a few years from now!
One of the more enchanting songs to be posted recently. I especially love the tribal percussion and vocal harmonies, and even that funny foghorn bass that sounds like someone broke their Korg.
