  1. I could be wrong but I think only the best film wins the Palm D’or, which went to the White Ribbon this year…. Charlotte Gainsbourg just took home the best actress prize.

    No, you were right the first time. The Palm d’Or is the name of the award specifically given out to the best film. You made me second guess myself, but I checked Varietyadn the official Cannes website.
