It’s difficult making out all the lyrics floating around in “Green Rivers”‘s echo chamber, but it’d be a nice change of course if the track was about either the Seattle proto-grunge crew, the Washington State serial killer Gary Ridgway who gave said band their name, or a straight-up CCR homage. Judging from what I can piece together, none of this is the case, but hey, mystery and indeterminacy is part of the brief, fuzzy song’s charm. The two-minute nugget appears as the UK-only B-side to the NJ BTW‘s forthcoming “Fake Blues” 7″, offering scruffy counterpoint to the breezier Side A.
And, as a reminder, here’s an older version of “Fake Blues.” The new one’s a different recording, has been mastered differently, is speedier, etc. But for old time’s sake…
The “Fake Blues” 7″ is out 7/20 via Half Machine. You can pre-order it here.

Well probably not got enough for the 500 Days soundtrack but …probably better that what Beck and Devandra are cooking up…
I have all the respect in the world for Beck,,,he can sure steal a hubcap…or engine…
More awesomeness from this great band. Now if they’d only come out to LA…
can’t wait for that mexican summer release
Love the LoFi sound of this. In a world where bands like Metallica release albums 4 times louder than everything else around and everybody is pushing to compete with this level sound on the radio it’s time to run the other way.
