New Orleans is a mere parish while Haiti is the Vatican of voodoo. If it can be arranged, seeing a real ritual is an experience you'll never forget. But it's definitely not for the faint of heart, especially during the All Souls "Gedde" celebrations ...

  1. This gets worse every year.

    • no, it’s true.
every year we get less and less touring acts and more and more local bands for this thing.
i’ve got no problem with the local bands, some of them are quite good.
but what’s the point if you can see them dozens of other times throughout the year for much cheaper. BAH
this isn’t jazz fest. we already have one of those.
oh well, at least jane’s addiction is playing.

Down is a New Orleans based metal band that Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown started playing with during Pantera’s split in the early nineties. They definitely wreck the shit out of Panic and Truckers. And don’t think I just said that because I don’t like Panic. I’m going to see them and The Allman Brothers in Dallas Oct. 16. Possibly going to be the best show ever.
