Ticketholding Wilco fans in LA and NYC have already seen Leslie and Tweedy recreate their (The Album) vocal duet in the flesh; last night’s Letterman was for the rest of us. Jeff and Feist enjoy a laid back but engaged rapport onstage that matches the dulcet mesh of their voices, one of those rare collaborative dynamics that enhances the song’s meaning as much as it raises the song’s profile. Dave enjoys the performance almost as much as he loves riffing on the camel party album art.

Whoa, they are really cute performing together. Also, a dress with pockets – neat!

  2. Cute how they sing the word ‘misconstrued’ w/ smiles and emphasis, especially knowing that their timing on that word is endearingly off on the recorded version of the song.

  3. @drake – that was my worst fear going into this…I can’t even watch now…

Great performance, but It’s Wilco (The Album) not (The Band).

  5. I used to pray for a Jeff Tweedy/Neko Case duet. But in a strange way, this might actually be better than that.

If Neko Case and Jeff Tweedy did a duet, it would draw attention to his weak voice.

I like Feist a lot… but even she couldn’t save this boring ass song.

I love Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, but Wilco have become bland and generic. Stop letting them get away with putting out mediocre records!!!

  9. Good grief! Letterman makes Feist look tiny! Is he, like, seven foot tall? Or is she five foot tall?
