“Tears, regret, and melancholic longing” is how we pegged Sally’s first bout of Guilty Pleasure, “Love In July.” From its track’s title, you’d be right to think the italo-disco princess is lingering on that particular mood with this next one. Nicolas Makelberge’s original is already an electro-pop tear-tugger, so Sally’s only choice is to magnify its tale of tragic eternal love (“I never knew someone could make me cry like this / I won’t get over you / even if I’m dying in Africa”), which of course she pulls off ably, via velvet synth hits and an airy yet torn, bittersweet vocal. Hearts move, ache, and break, but they don’t forget.

I’m really digging this album, more that the first one. It’s the soundtrack to a night at a chic Stockholm wine bar. That’s a good thing!
