When we last checked up on Washed Out, the one-man South Carolina bedroom psych-maker offered up “Belong,” the shimmering, slightly-Caribbean vocal-fronted opener from the forthcoming High Times cassette. The more chilled-out, interstellar instrumental “Luck” shows up on Side B. Everyone — including cover dude Ernest Greene himself — seems to be positioning Washed Out as summer music, but now that the weather’s broken a bit, it’s clear it’ll do just as good a job soundtracking the fall.
The High Times cassette:
Side A
01 “Belong”
02 “Good Luck”
03 “Phone Call”
04 “Olivia”
Side B
05 “Clap Intro”
06 “Luck”
07 “It’s Kate’s Birthday”
08 “You Will Be Sad”
09 “Yeah”
High Times is available for pre-order at Mirror Universe. The info:
Pre-order runs until September 8, or until 50 pre-orders have been filled. These 50 will ship with something a little extra from us to you.
Regular orders begin 9/15. Also, don’t forget about the Mexican Summer 12″, Life Of Leisure, now with summery graphic design. The pre-sale is sold out, but “records will be availabe at local retail and on-line stores in early October.” It’s where you’ll find “Hold Out,” “Feel It All Around,” and “You’ll See It,” among other things.

I’ve been crazy about everything I’ve heard by Washed Out so far. Can’t wait for the new stuff.
Couldn’t agree more – this dude is awesome. Loved every track I’ve heard.
This is nice…really liking this guy’s creations!
So is that mp3 SUPPOSED to be 30 seconds?
peculiar. refresh– should be OK now.
Fine now! Thanks, guy!
