Yes, the title of Air’s new song’s “Sing Sang Sung.” Song. And it’s nice! Whatever joy “Do The Joy” lacked comes through many times over in Air’s infectious Love 2 single. The French duo want you to sing them a song, give them a wink, forget your worries and be as chilled out as they’ve made a career being. The mix of sunset synths and gentle guitars sound like Cornelius at his most carefree, and would make a perfect cruising-on-a-summer’s-day video if they hadn’t already planned on one featuring a performance by their animated likenesses. good call on that Cornelius comp. I’m excited to hear the rest of what this album holds, but I’m hoping for more access to the darker side (Do the Joy was a good start). Parts of this song make me feel like we all live in a muzak submarine
It’s a pleasant little pop ditty for sure, but probably the slightest, most disposable thing they’ve ever done… I suppose this puts paid to any hopes of a return to somewhat more weighty, darker material for them?..
Has anyone seen them in concert? Good? Bad?
Saw them when they toured Talkie Walkie and it was honestly one of the more memorable concerts I’ve been to. They had a full band (their drummer was awesome) and they sounded as good as they do on their albums, maybe better.
Saw them twice. I think it depends on the venue. First time was all seated and I appreciated it a lot more with the great lighting and sound. Second time was smaller in a club and I kind of tuned out halfway
