Gossip Girl returns 9/14, but you knew that because you love Gossip Girl and reading about Gossip Girl on blogs. (Season 3 spoilers here.) Thurston Moore also loves Gossip Girl. Last month we reported that an upcoming episode features Sonic Youth playing “Starpower” at a party for Rufus and Lily, the world’s best parents. Thurston and Jemina Pearl previously recorded “Sheena Is a Punk Rocker” for the show, but didn’t appear. That’s why this cameo is so exciting. Chris Walla‘s really excited.
The photo above, via Rolling Stone, was taken by GG fan Coco Moore on the set. Thurston tells the mag: “Ed and Chace seemed aware of who we are, but they were more interested in Kings of Leon. Those are their boys.”
Thurston also says he told budding rockstar Taylor Momsen (her band’s called Pretty Reckless) to read Henry Rollins’ Get In The Van.
