Two days before his big 9/11 show at MSG, Shawn Carter took a theatre tour through the city to promote his Blueprint 3 LP. His first stop was Letterman’s couch, where Jay-Z and Dave-Z traded words (well, a word) about marital bliss and talked about how this third Blueprint was distinct from the previous installments (“it’s three times as better”). Afterward it was on the next one (Swizz Beat reference, that song is so good), HOV hitting the Blender Theatre for a show organized by MySpace Music and DJ Hero, and attended by some 600 MySpace friends. We have some pictures of Jay-Z looking like Jay-Z at the event, and here’s that Letterman clip. Mr. Carter takes his talk show banter very dry.

Does anyone really care about this hack? I suppose because he likes Grizzly Bear, people think he somehow retains relevancy that he really doesn’t have?

Why aren’t any There Is No Enemy songs available yet. Stereogum you’ve got to be more proactive badgering these Idaho guys. They maybe glorious musicians but they will sit on their hands regarding publicity.

  3. aw shit carson got “steved”

  4. How is it different from from 1 & 2? Great joke Dave. Even Jay-Z rolled his eyes.

  5. YO! He’s not wearing his Grizzly Bear t-shirt! Jigga be trippin’ !

Jay-Z’s hilarious, I don’t understand how anyone could not like the guy.
