Imaad Wasif lent a hand to Lou Barlow for “Don’t Apologize” (plus Goodnight Unknown in general) and can be spotted as a touring member of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but he’s front and center for the psychedelic Six Organs-redolent “Redeemer,” the lead track from his forthcoming solo release The Voidist. Well, in the hazy super 8 video, Wasif enters the land of the blue balls and then fades into the sunsetting Garden Of Eden background while two nude women make burnt offerings, brandish plates of fresh fruit, and recline on the rocks. So the clip’s NSFW if your employer doesn’t let you watch artfully directed naked hippie chicks galavanting in Malibu. It’s a rather beautifully shot video, though, so kudos to Jess Holzworth, who also did Beck’s “Gamma Ray” (the one with Chloë Sevigny) and Basement Jaxx’s “Raindrops.” Mind Wasif’s steely gaze.
